Spray paint decorating

I decided to spray paint the walls and ceiling as I knew it would be much quicker and also a great way of getting a good finish. I had been advised to paint the top coat with a fine roller as otherwise it would be impossible to touch up in the future without it standing out a mile and that turned out to be really good advice.

As I needed to mist coat and then apply several top coats it would give me plenty of opportunity to practise. It was great to be able to cover ground so quickly, especially as the mist coat was all white.

Spraying the doors, skirtings and architraves

For this I used a HVLP (high volume, low pressure) paint sprayer with a watered down water based primer and then water based satin top coat. I decided to brush the top coat to prevent the skirting and architrave looking like plastic. This was a good compromise with speed of spray painting and the type of finish I wanted.
