What is first fix Carpentry
First Fix involves the structural work roof struts, wall studding, framing and joists and this was all covered in the MBC package. Items that are also included in first fix that were not completed by MBC were stud work to create shower enclosures, staircase, door linings, window boards, noggins, boxing out and fixing ply to walls where heavy objects may be fixed such as the kitchen, utility and bathrooms. There was also an amount of adjusting internal partition walls and aligning noggins that had been a little rushed and would have effected the alignment of plaster boarding. I completed all of the first fix carpentry myself except for the majority of door linings as at the time I thought these needed a more experienced carpenter.
